‘This Is The Meat of My Life’: Former ‘The X-Files’ star calls for an end to meat industry
WASHINGTON — Former “The X Files” star Dana Scully is calling for an industry-wide ban on beef.
The Hill published her op-ed Wednesday in the Wall Street Journal calling for the end of the beef industry.
“This is the meat of my life,” she said.
“There are other meats that are equally important.
For the last 20 years, I have seen the industry change and change and then finally get what I’ve always been looking for.”
Scully, who has a 10-year-old son, is among the thousands of people who are petitioning the USDA to lift the ban on U.S. beef production, which was implemented in 2005.
“My son loves his steak, and I love mine,” Scully said.
“This is what America is about.
If we’re going to continue to use this meat, we’re gonna continue to eat it.”
The USDA has said it will continue to review its beef production guidelines and beef production plans.
